THE FIRST HARDBEATS EVENT OF THE YEAR

Although the memories from the epic parties with Amelie Lens, Klangkuenstler and Deborah De Luca are still fresh, we are ready to move into the second half of the HardBeats season. The first event of the year, which traditionally takes place on the last weekend of January, will feature a lineup of both scene pioneers and some of the freshest talent of the scene.

BEN SIMS has a special bond with regional ravers, having been a regular on our dance

floors since the 1990s. He co-defined the British techno sound at the turn of the millennium, and to this day, as a DJ, producer, and curator of labels, radio shows, podcasts, and club nights, he has remained a loyal advocate of eclectic and fresh music. His mastery is recognized by Detroit pioneers such as Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, and Kevin Saunderson, as well as European contemporaries, and he is also followed by a new techno generation.

And speaking of the new techno generation... ØTTA, who will be performing in Slovenia for the first time, is quickly becoming one of the hottest new names on the scene with a primal, energetic techno sound based on powerful bass. She skillfully interweaves this with classic hardcore and psytrance samples, hypnotic rhythms of Brazilian drums and Latin hip-hop, masterfully measured pinches of vocals, and playful piano and UK garage sounds that invite you to dance. A great example of this is her performance in the popular Boiler Room series, and her sets have already rocked the arenas of festivals such as Time Warp, Monegros, Fuse, Kappa Futur, Sonar, Elrow, Rotterdam Rave, and Verknipt.

One of Germany’s finest, OBSCURE SHAPE, has already performed at HardBeats events together with SHDW. This time, the master of hard melodies, based on a good groove and modern sound, inspired by classic techno from the 90s and 00s, returns to Ljubljana for his debut solo performance. He left a strong mark on the scene with a series of original tracks and remixes in the last couple of months, and he also impresses with his performances - adept at both classical mixing and live acts and hybrid performances.

The host GUMJA is a master of classic techno, hard groove, schranz, and the harder shades of the genre. He also had a great year, marked by his work as a DJ, producer, head of the Techsturbation label, and, last but not least, the HardBeats festival also received the Ambassador Award for the best electronic event of the year in the wider region.

Warm-up set will be in FRIKI's hands. He has already proven himself in this role last year - securing himself a ticket to another ride.
